Emily is a Family Nurse Practitioner licensed in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Before her degree, she started at the bottom working as a patient care tech and nursing assistant. She received her Bachelor’s in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She then went on to get her Master’s in Nursing Education degree from Rivier University and worked as an Adjunct Nursing Professor teaching classes like Pathopharmacology, Health Policy, Research, and capstone students. Though she enjoyed higher education, she went on to get her Post-Master’s Nurse Practitioner Certification from Rivier University to support her in a higher clinical role, after working as a Rapid Response nurse in the ICU throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
She is a published author of “Being the Angel of Death During a Pandemic” in the American Society of Registered Nurses Journal, as well as on KevinMD.com, where she relives her experience throughout the pandemic. This has tens of thousands of shares and resonated with people and healthcare workers alike across the country. Her background of nearly 15 years in healthcare includes working in trauma-designated emergency departments, intensive care units, rapid response teams, pediatric primary care, and urgent cares where she saw the detrimental effects of alcohol and other substances/prescription medications. This fueled her drive to increase awareness of medical cannabis use as a legitimate treatment modality for patients who could benefit from it. She does not believe in replacing traditional medical care all together, but more so appreciates the supplementary role medical cannabis could play in a patient's care plan.
She looks at the whole patient and wants to understand the true cause of your symptoms. She will give you a customized recommendation after your appointment to aid your journey to success with medical cannabis use.
